Will this cure NBC’s ratings woes? According to The Hollywood Reporter, the struggling Peacock Network is embarking on a “reverse product placement” deal that will see Dunder Mifflin, the fictional paper company at the centre of The Office, become a very real-world entity.
Under the new deal, the Staples-owned office supply website Quill.com will use Dunder Mifflin-branded copy paper, featuring the same logo and slogans from the sitcom. (Tentative slogans include “Our motto is, Quabity First” and “Get Your Scrant On.” Yes, really.) Cartons of paper are set to be sold next year for US$34.99 each, a larger markup than traditional copy paper.
